Hi, My name is Lars Nielsen, and I'm born in 1955.
Since I quit school in '73, I have worked on different slaughterhouses, and I have always been lucky enough to have understanding bosses, who have been willing to give me the neccesary time off to do my bike rides, which now have become an important part of my life.
I bought my first racing bike in '75, and untill then, I've never been a part of any organised sport. I quickly learned, however, that I couldn't quite make myself compete in the speed dominated sport, so instead I combined my interest in the nature with my biking capabilities; put my luggage on my bike, and went out there! The first four years I traversed Mid- and Southern-Norway, where I gathered experience, before I (in '84) travelled 2,800 km through the Mid-European Alps. In '85 I arrived in USA for the first time, to bike from Seattle to Aspen, Colorado, and further on to Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and San Fransisco; a total of 5,645 km's in 32 days.
I lost my heart - there - in '85! Since then, I have biked about 60,000 km in USA and Canada! As far as I know, no foreigner has done that. At the same time, I have planned my trips to give me the best possible scenic views, as well as challending my fysics and stamina. That has - more than once - led me to the very edge of responsibility I hope, that you will take pleasure in my travel descriptions and pictures, and maybe even get the urge to go and give it a try for yourselfes!
I'm sorry, but the travel descriptions are still under construction, but WILL be comming up! In the meantime, please check the danish version for pictures.
